Cumberland Falls is an established stop for our family anytime we head down to Florida.  It’s right of I-75 and a great place to stop for a picnic.

Cumberland Falls has been called the “Niagara of the South” and with good reason.  The raw power and beauty of the falls are awe-inspiring.  The waterfall isn’t quite as large as Horseshoe Falls at Niagara, but it is still impressive in its own right.  (Be sure to check out the Niagara Falls pressed pennies in our collection while you are here.)

Cumberland Falls State Park in Corbin, Kentucky

Cumberland Falls is 125 feet wide and the mist it generates is quite refreshing if you visit on a hot summer’s day.  Fun fact – it’s the only place in the United States where you can view a moonbow for a few days each month.

I love to visit waterfalls, so not surprisingly, my waterfall pressed pennies are some of my favorite ones in my collection.  My Cumberland Falls pressed penny is even more special, given that the machine has been retired.
